Markus Hansen, a Paris-based, German-born artist, uses photography and video to create an empathetic image of himself and a paired individual. By dressing like his partner subject and adopting their posture and facial expression, he achieves an uncanny expression of their feelings. An exercise in compassion, the project reveals nonverbal ways in which people are indelibly connected through shared experience.
