Salsa Baroque
Presented by Early Music Now at Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts
October 6, 2012
Ensemble Caprice from Montreal performs Salsa Baroque: Music of Latin American and Spain. The musical dialogue between the Old and New Worlds in the 16th–18th centuries produced a fascinating blend of European polyphony and Latin American traditional music, leaving no doubt as to why both a tasty sauce and a fiery dance go by the name “salsa.” Pre-Concert Lecture at 4:00.
