One of the most popular films of the 1930s and one of the most popular films of all time. From 1911 (the year the Charles Allis mansion was built) to 1938, climaxing with a concert in Carnegie Hall. The story chronicles the years Allis mansion was built to 1938, climaxing with a concert in Carnegie Hall. Tyrone plays a hotheaded aristocrat bandleader who falls in love with the band singer played by Faye. The nice-guy pianist-composer, played by Ameche, also loves her. The score includes 28 Irving Berlin songs with such favorites as the title song Blue Skies, Easter Parade, and Now It Can Be Told (written for Faye). Nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture. It won the Oscar for Best Scoring of a Motion Picture.
