Artist Talk - Anwar Floyd Pruitt: Self Portraiture, Time Travel & The Future

Step into the world of self-portraiture, time travel, and memory with featured artist Anwar Floyd-Pruitt in person in the Arc Theater at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel!

Floyd-Pruitt will speak about his exhibition Retina Records: Self Portraits of a Time Traveler, currently on view in MOWA | DTN.

Retina Records finds Anwar Floyd-Pruitt inventing a new visual language capable of evoking the experience of time travel. Densely layered spray painted works yield a kaleidoscopic installation that is equally inspired by the aesthetic sensibilities of the 1990s as well as by an imagined Afro-futurist tomorrow. Floyd-Pruitt’s abstract faces unite features culled from family photos and launch viewers into a vibrant psychologically and visually intriguing space.
