UWM Presents an Evening of Ethiopian Music with Qwanqwa

 

This Sunday! UWM Musicology and Ethnomusicology is thrilled to welcome Qwanqwa, a supergroup made up of American violinist Kaethe Hostetter and Ethiopian musicians Selamnesh Zemene (vocals), Endris Hassan (mesenko), Bubu Teklemariam (bass krar), and Misale Leggesse (kebero). They’ll be bringing their unique mix of irresistibly danceable grooves, alternately joyful and haunting melodies, and out-of-the-box experimental sounds to the UWM Recital Hall on Sunday, September 25, at 7:30PM. This event is free and open to the public, and will be streamed on YouTube for those who can’t physically join us!
