Gallery 218 is a 32 year old artist run cooperative art gallery located in the Third Ward’s Marshall Building. This all volunteer gallery features contemporary artwork which is abstract, conceptual or experimental in all media. Many of the artists are local or from Wisconsin, but also regional, national and global. Milwaukee Film

Founded in 2008 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to hosting Milwaukee’s premiere film festival, Milwaukee Film provides incredible opportunities to view the best contemporary American and international cinema. The 2012 Milwaukee Film Festival drew over 50,000 attendees, which included the Milwaukee Children’s Film Festival, a special program designed to engage children and enhance media literacy through film. We also support local filmmakers and give firsthand experience in film production to high school students through our Collaborative Cinema program.

Nō Studios

Nō Studios derives from the word play between a rejection artists are so often told, with, nō 能, the Sino-Japanese root word for “skill” or “talent”. Founded by Oscar winner and Milwaukee native, John Ridley, the desire behind our 40,000 square foot headquarters is to create a collaborative workspace and social community that offers an environment for artists and art lovers to come together. Our historic building features offices, co-working space, a state-of-the-art screening room, performance stage, café bar, gallery, and rooftop lounge and deck. Nō Studios sits at the intersection of art and activism supporting both the creative community and organizations dedicated to social justice.
