Milwaukee history museum highlighting Americana in the 1910s-1940s as well as the people, businesses and city of Milwaukee. Each room in the 150 year old historic house, is a diorama of authentic items from the time period to recreate the stores and daily life of the average citizens. Interactive exhibits include a vintage Ice Cream Parlor, a Political Exhibit (that changes every year), the Grafman Grocery Store, a quirky Bayview Pharmacy, the Saxe Theater, a hidden Speakeasy and more. Functioning crank telephones, an outdoor weight scale, victrola and a player piano can all be tried with supervision. You may explore on your own or take advantage of guided tours. Exhibits change every few months at a minimum and you never know what new “old” items that you might explore that day! Open Year Round Monday-Saturday from 10am-4pm, Sunday noon-4pm. A 501(c)3 Non-Profit Museum that accepts donations.

Art in the Burg

Cedarburg High School Fines Arts Departments and Fine Arts Boosters (FAB) are pleased to present the 10th annual Art in the Burg Art Fair, where you can enjoy shopping for many different types of art, in many price ranges. Art in the Burg is to be held in the Cedarburg High School Field House on Saturday, March 11, from 10-4 pm. Admission is $5 per person. Art in the Burg features over 65 outstanding artists from all areas of Wisconsin and Illinois will exhibit and sell their original work in many artistic disciplines. This juried art fair includes works by artists in glass, painting, graphics/illustration, printmaking, photography, jewelry, pottery, ceramics, sculpture, wood, metal and fiber. All proceeds raised at Art in the Burg are used to support fine arts programs at Cedarburg High School through the Fine Arts Boosters (FAB).

Cedarburg Art Museum

The Cedarburg Art Museum was formed in 2013 when its initial 49 paintings were donated to the people of Cedarburg by a trust fund left for the community by Ozaukee Bank. The Museum is located in a historic Victorian home on the main street in Cedarburg. Our mission is to establish and then to maintain a permanent forum that will collect, exhibit and preserve the artwork of Cedarburg and its environs for the ages. Along with exhibiting, collecting and preserving the art of Cedarburg, we have many additional goals. The location of the museum was chosen for the purpose of helping to keep our downtown vibrant and preserving the landmark that houses the museum. In our first year and a half we have partnered with Concordia University, Cedarburg High School, Ozaukee County Historical Society, Cedarburg Artists Guild, Cedarburg Cultural Center, Wisconsin Museum of Quilt and Fiber, and numerous artists, teachers, and residents in the area.

Inspiration Studios is an intimate art gallery and performance space carved from a former funeral home with the help of over 100 community volunteers, friends and family. It is home to Erico’s Gallery, providing an opportunity for a wide variety of new art to be viewed in a charming gallery setting. It is also home to Village Playhouse, a community theatre company which offers six mainstage theatre productions throughout the year and one traveling children’s show, engaging children, teens and adults. Inspiration Studios opened its doors to the West Allis community on March 1, 2014, with the intention of providing varied styles of art and theatre to the broader community, focusing particularly on the emergence of new artists and their works.
